What to expect in this role

The Risk Event Data team ("RED") is the means by which Chase can protect our customers, stakeholders, and employees by accurately and appropriately recording net operating losses that occur across our firm. The team uses a variety of tools such as MS Access and Excel in order to perform the process to record RED events. You will partner closely with our controls and risk management teams to ensure the proper use of procedures and policies are being followed to the standards of our firm.

Responsibilities
  • Record and reconcile net operating losses in firmwide database
  • Working on large data sets, using tools like Alteryx and MS Excel
  • Demonstrate technical expertise to interpret reports, analyze data, and recommend solutions on areas for process improvement
  • Use judgement in certain accounting transactions, such as aggregating transactions when needed and matching recoveries to losses
  • Create reports based off large databases for reconciliation to General Ledger
  • Communicate clearly with peers, supervisors, and managers on recommendations, improvements, and initiatives
About you

An ideal candidate for this role will meet the following qualifications:

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills - written and oral
  • Experience in running and troubleshooting errors in queries/macros using MS Access/Excel
  • Accounting experience in working with general ledgers, balancing, and reconciling
  • Knowledge and experience of Alteryx software
  • Demonstrated ability to meet required monthly deadlines
Technical skills
  • Possess the ability to quickly understand, extract, and work in unfamiliar data environments
  • Advanced experience in working in Alteryx Designer
  • Strong knowledge of all Office applications (MS Excel, MS Access)
Analytical skills
  • Experience in working on, processing and extracting data from multiple data sources
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Highly developed problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making skills
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance
  • Passionate about continuous learning and professional development
