Position Description:r r r r We are a community of Engineering staff that manage and support capital projects as well as manufacturing plant engineering work to sustain and improve our processes. The successful candidate will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to provide engineering solutions with a focus on long term maintainability and safety in design. A variety of skills are typically required including technical, business and teamwork in both a plant and office environment. r r r r Accountabilities: r r r r

• r
• Lead civil and structural engineering activities for both plant maintenance projects and new capital investment projects.r
• Design & specification of civil/structural engineering components, ensuring adherence to AMD and regulatory H&S standards.r
• Work as a team member in a multi-discipline engineering environment.r
• Manage 3rd party engineering Consultants to conceptualize, design, and implement civil/structural engineering solutions.r
• Provide on-site support during project execution and civil construction activitiesr
• Inspect and assess various in-situ structural steel and reinforced concrete structures and prepare detailed retrofit and repair procedures.r
• Respond to emergency breakdown scenarios and provide technical direction based on sound engineering principles and assumptions.r
• Prepare budget cost estimates for engineering design and construction/installationr
• Promote the engineering department to manufacturing business unit partners by showing leadership in H&S, providing excellent customer service and taking accountability for all engineering services provided.r
• Contribute to aEUR~World Class Continuous ImprovementaEUR(TM) (WCCI) initiatives.r

r r r r Technical Knowledge:r r r r

• r
• Working knowledge of the terminology, principles, and theory related to structural analysis and design with specific focus on steel & concrete structures, and geotechnical foundations for equipment and buildings. r
• Advanced knowledge of the requirements of Canadian codes and standards including CSA S16, CSA A23.3, NBCC and OBC.r
• Advanced knowledge of project engineering and management principals and tools, and construction methods.r
• Working knowledge of CAD and structural analysis software (e.g. RISA-3D, STAAD).r
• Excellent time management, written and oral communication skills, and ability to multi-taskr
• Able to work in a group environment, as well as independently with minimum supervision.r

• Experience in project engineering, project coordination, construction engineering, engineering analysis and design, problem identification and solvingr

r r r r Qualifications:r r r r

• r
• University Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.r
• 5-10+ years of job-related experience in a heavy industrial environment, or significant exposure to civil construction with proficiency in estimating and solving technical on-site problems.r
• Licensed P. Eng in the Province of Ontario (PEO) is an asset.r

• Office environment with frequent plant workr
• Normal hours of work are daytime, Monday to Friday (8 hours per day, plus lunch) with occasional extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloadsr
• Flexibility to determine workday start and end times, to fit personal needsr
• This position is eligible for a hybrid work model which requires you to be onsite at least three days per week. r
