You will be working as Category Manager and will be part of Electrification business for Smart Power division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Procurement Manager and will be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories. Ensuring execution in accordance with company, procurement and supply base management instructions and procedures. Your responsibilities Implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and regional/global Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements Securing full utilization of Pro-Supply global supplier relationship management platform according to relevant procedure, both related to sharing of supplier information and to finding existing high performing suppliers to ABB Managing planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts. Ensuring buyers minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with company guidelines Monitoring the supply chain management processes and activities. Pro-actively working to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality, and delivery. Monitoring and reporting internal and supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues and development actions. Supporting conformance to ABB supply chain management metrics Leveraging CIPS category teams locally, regionally, and globally to ensure appropriate supplier selection. Defining and establishing local standard agreements with all major local suppliers. Providing and maintaining standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with company directives and guidelines Your background Diploma in Mechanical or Diploma in Tool and Die Making with 10-12 yrs. of experience in purchasing of Capital Goods, Tools/Molds, and Equipment Knowledge on Standard items like Power source, Pneumatic products, Power tools, Production line equipment, Automation, Tool/Mold construction Should have Knowledge on E auction, Supplier Selection, Vendor Development, Payment process Should have through knowledge on Negotiation, Preparing the purchase agreements Should be proficient in Excel and SAP More about us ABB Smart Power is a global technology leader, with products and solutions that make power supplies smart, connected and protected.
