Role Profile

As part of Data and Feeds, the Business Manager for News is responsible for partnering with our News Leadership Team to execute delivery of our strategic news strategy. This is a key business role reporting to the Global Head of Business Management, Data and Feeds and working closely with Global Head of News. A large part of the responsibility involves working with strategic partners as well coordinating with internal teams to ensure that our efforts remain in alignment with the needs of our existing customer base and potential growth opportunities. The role is expected to balance demands from various partners when setting priorities and will suit candidates who are commercially and technically minded and highly motivated, with an appetite for discovering new content and applying technical and content knowledge to new data and use cases.

This is a global role (based in Bangalore) within LSEG\xe2\x80\x99s Data & Analytics division working in Data and Feeds and will support News Teams across all regions driving business planning, and coordinating the implementation of challenging change programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business management processes and tools for the Business Unit, implementing best practices to deliver business and customer benefit.
  • Identify and track business risk and operational improvements in consultation with key stakeholders and manage implementation of enhancements to delivery with ongoing monitoring to drive positive outcomes for the business.
  • Manage external and internal reporting activities, including quarterly reporting to Boards / the Group, annual budgets, business plans, risk and cost reviews ensuring clear, timely and accurate communication.
  • Manage the budget and forecasting processes for the Business Unit, and projects, providing timely financial analysis to the Leadership Team working in conjunction with Finance Leads.
  • Drive adherence to the operational risk and control management framework(s), ensuring regular reviews of KPIs and MI reporting to identify risk incidents or emerging issues, and initiate action plans with relevant Teams to remediate issues.
  • Lead significant projects, programs and business initiatives, demonstrating creativity and ingenuity and track and report progress of both strategic and ad-hoc projects for the Business Unit.
  • Determine and clearly articulate work priorities based on general direction from Managers, Group and Divisional Strategic Goals,
  • Contribute to the development of new product models and concepts and Business Unit Strategy and Business Planning.
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to middle and senior management to resolve complex issues.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

Essential
  • Process management and excellence: Ability to design, implement and continuously optimize business processes.
  • Project management: Demonstrates the discipline of planning, organising and managing resources and activities to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined goals, timeframe and standards.
  • Change management: Demonstrates the ability to identify both enablers and barriers to change, and effectively engage and influence teams to embrace new ways of working and drive delivery.
  • Stakeholder management: Ability to identify the right stakeholders, their specific and points of view, and address and incorporate in key efforts in a positive and consultative approach.
  • Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, confident presentation skills and abilities.
  • Data and information visualization: Demonstrates the ability to gather, synthesize and visualize data and information to draw out business insight and action including Word, Excel (VLook up, Pivots) and advanced PowerPoint and Power BI an advantage.
Preferred
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (in Business or Finance) or equivalent and relevant professional qualifications and experience.
  • Knowledge of LSEG\xe2\x80\x99s business, members, products, services, competitive and regulatory landscape.
  • Experience of financial and risk management best practice.
  • FISD Financial Information Associate (FIA) Qualification an advantage.
