: Role Summary/Purpose: Assistant Vice President Supplier Manager will strategically shape our supplier and agency relationships to support our marketing transformation. This individual will drive and deliver strategic supplier initiatives for our marketing function by leveraging existing and new suppliers that can deliver emerging technologies, newly identified services and/or solutions and process enhancements to meet our ever-changing marketing needs. They will identify and drive marketing supplier and agency improvements to drive efficiencies in marketing spend of approximately $126 Million annually with over 150 suppliers. This role is responsible for managing all supplier performances, requirements, risk assessments, along with their remediation’s and for meeting all required policies and processes to mitigate business risks. This position will also act as a team lead to assist and guide India resources to deliver on all supplier requirements. This individual will also be encouraged to apply a lens in line with the Agile methodology to drive continuous improvement, oversight, and efficiencies on both internal and external execution process. This role will need to collaborate and strongly influence others to drive more streamlined and faster cycle times in both internal and external supplier/agency processes working with cross functional stakeholders such as marketing client teams, finance and sourcing to achieve SYF marketing goals and objectives. “This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. We’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility.” Essential Responsibilities:

  • AVP, Supplier Manager will assist the leader in managing and leading functional support teams, supplier team members and our marketing teams to deliver our marketing transformation goals and objectives
  • Manage continuous analysis of supplier categories to ensure the right number, the right services and the right performances are being evaluated and discussed regularly to meet our SYF marketing needs.
  • Identify and lead strategic initiatives that require supplier external process/solutions and/or our own SYF internal processes/solutions in managing our suppliers to meet marketing client’s goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to optimize cost, service solutions, performance, including design and execution of RFP’s, contract negotiations, statement of work and ensure PO’s and invoices are managed for accuracy and policy adherence
  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders to develop category and supplier relationship management strategies that deliver best practices, innovative solutions, savings and quality performances to assist in the growth of SYF
  • Lead strategic plan to drive value across multiple categories based on an understanding of the business’ priorities, the market, spend baseline and benchmarking expertise
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding suppliers process to ensure it meets all regulators requirements
  • Manage and drive oversight with over 150 suppliers, develop and drive communications of process changes/improvements and requirements to all suppliers
  • Drive monthly analysis of category spend to identify opportunities to reduce spend by establishing and utilizing all available savings levers. Develop business case to substantiate opportunities and prioritization. Present to CMO’s, Marketing Leaders, Finance and Sourcing.
  • Lead supplier relationship management to the next level by building and maintaining relationships with strategic suppliers across multiple categories
  • Develop a standardized performance measurement with reporting and metrics to be reviewed monthly
  • Meet, manage and monitor all SM COE requirements, risk and issues to ensure compliance with requirements on managing marketing suppliers
  • Manage India team of 5 to ensure all responsibilities are being met in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
  • Limited travel for on-site supplier reviews
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following: supplier management, supplier oversight, project management
  • Minimum 9+ years of supplier management experience
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software

Desired Characteristics:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in marketing channels, managing strategic initiatives, supplier oversight and financial services supplier requirements.
  • 7+ years of supplier management experience in Synchrony Financial or another financial services institution
  • 5+ years project management
  • 6+ years supplier relationship management experience
  • Experience in consumer financial services with exposure to a credit card or retail environment.
  • Experience in various marketing channels, technology and emerging solutions.
  • Project management skills with successful experience participating in a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, develop strategies and meet business goals
