Introduction: . The purpose of the Wholesale Credit Risk - Credit Analysis team is to contribute towards building sound quality asset portfolio and a strong risk culture while ensuring that the credit review and recommendation process remains responsive to the customer needs . Assess customer\'s business and/or transaction structure through the analysis of business, transactional, market and credit risks associated with the provision of the Bank\'s products and services to the customer. . Working with a wide range of industry specialism\'s and with the larger exposures (typically Financing Lines above GBP 10m), you will deliver high quality and consistent credit applications, making strong and robust recommendations. . The role works in close collaboration with colleagues within Wholesale Credit Risk sanctioning and Business teams. Ensure credit proposals are complete in terms of information and relevance so as to enable Credit Sanctioning teams to make timely and informed decisions . Proactively manage the risk of the designated portfolio by periodic review, monitoring trends in key credit aspects and take immediate corrective action on breaches or downturn in quality by taking up with client/Coverage/Risk Sanctioning teams . Ensure ongoing adherence to risk policies ad guidelines . They will also need to drive a culture of continuous improvement and maintain an effective working relationship with stakeholders across functions and locations. What will you be doing Credit and Transactional Risk Management - 70% . Assess a customer\'s business and/or transaction structure through the analysis of business, transactional, market and credit risks associated with the provision of the Bank\'s products and services to the customer. . Provision of information on a customer\'s business via research, using various sources e.g. trade journals / brokers reports / Internet / Bloomberg and rating agencies. Deliver professional advice on risk management matters, industry and product sets, competitor activity and the timely involvement of external specialists. . Develop highly thought out, top quality credit analysis and solutions, with the view to obtaining credit approval from Credit Sanctioners/Credit Committees . The preparation of credit proposals for recommendation and presentation directly to the Sanctioner and/or Committee on behalf of the Relationship Point. . Creation/verification of customer grading and severity, ensuring the optimal use of financial modelling and grading tools. . Responsible for the first class analysis of financial information produced by customers. . Responsible for the full & accurate delivery of Post sanction documentation. Typically, this will be outsourced documentation, therefore includes you managing this process closely with external Agents. Business Risk Partnership - 20% . Work very closely in partnership with Relationship Points on new credit applications, providing preliminary guidance on credit appetite and consulting with credit specialists under own initiative, to shape bespoke customer/risk solutions. . First class delivery of service in line with agreed service level agreements/customer set deadlines . Work in partnership with specialist/sales team colleagues and proactively anticipate, respond to and seek to exceed the expectations of customers. . Proactively contribute to change management initiatives in support of process and quality improvements, cost reductions and development of colleagues within the team . Support the Business by operating within cost budgets, using initiative to \'working smarter\' Team Working - 10% . Develop and maintain a close working relationship with specialist/sales team colleagues and credit risk sanctioners. . Coach, mentor and guide the junior analysts in the team to bring them up the learning curve and further hone their credit skills. . Be an SME and act as a role model for the team members. . As a senior member of the team, to undertake and complete ad hoc projects as and when required, under your own drive and initiative. . Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards What we\'re looking for: . CA or MBA (CFA/FRM added advantage) . Prior experience in corporate credit analysis in a bank or related industry . Ability to generate insights from data and information, assess the risk impact and recommend action . Understanding of financial statements to enable appropriate interpretation of results . Deep understanding of Corporate Lending products, Opportunity Assessment and Deal Structuring . Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint . Conceptual thinking - find innovative ways to solve analytical problems . Ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlines . Team work - Commitment and ability to work with cross-functional teams . Strong interpersonal skills . Oral and written communication skills with ability to translate insight into a coherent story Skills that will help you in the role: . Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS . Awareness of legislation affecting the Bank and customers (including the Data Protection Act, Companies Act, Insolvency Act, Financial Services Act, Money Laundering and confidentiality regulations, Sarbanes Oxley and Basel).
