Introduction:

• Under minimal supervision, create Automation scripts - estimates, scripts, pre and post conditioning.
• Executes Automated Tests and collates evidence for Test automation progress reporting and tracking.
• Articulates the tests executed, data used, the results and defects to project stakeholders
• Able to peer review test scripts
• Improve process related to feature testing

Bring innovative ideas to solve technical challenges What will you be doing?

• Mentor junior testers within the team, including pairing with them.
• Review business requirements to understand how system requirements fit within overall business solution. Challenge any requirements that are incomplete or do not provide sufficient clarity to support effective system development.
• Review requirements to identify all areas of functional and non-functional (e.g. capacity, availability, response times, etc.) testing required.
• Support business colleagues in defining detailed 'testable' requirements.
• Champion transition to automated testing solutions to reduce software time-to-market.
• Understand the technical solution and how layers of the architecture are connected to ensure appropriate testing is conducted at each layer from the UI to the persisted data.
• Understand technical constraints of live environment / architecture, support business colleagues in understanding any ‘requirement versus cost’ trade-offs.
• Conform to established good practice and any appropriate test automation standards as used for Multi-Channel Applications within Barclays UK.
• Complete assignment work to budget, time and quality requirements. Document all work in accordance with agreed standards, and with re-use in mind
• Collaborate with other application testers and software engineers across teams to build the technical solution.
• Review test strategies to guarantee the quality of the delivered system, assist in the diagnosis of system problems encountered during testing.
• Completion of Test Closure reports.
• Identification of trends in defects and root cause analysis.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in Manual as well Automation testing.
• Expertise in automation testing
• Expertise in analysing project documentation to extract requirements, system functions and other features to be tested
• Good Understanding testing lifecycle and defect life cycle.
• Drive test scripts preparation & execution activities
• Execute tests during each software development phase.
• Writing gherkin scripts in selenium framework
• Experience of APP testing on Mobile devices.
• Participate in discussions with functional team to understand the gherkin tests along-with required Pre and Post conditions
• Set up and Execute Automated tests and record evidence
• Hand-over the automated scripts post stabilization to functional release teams and feature teams.
• Raise defects with appropriate amount of details
• Explain the tests executed, data used, the results and defects to project team
• Lead full project testing from requirement understanding till completion of testing
• Ability to coordinate with different teams like Development team and Business Analysts throughout test life cycle
• Expert level experience in preparing test metrics/reports.
• Well versed with Agile project delivery & exposure to JIRA along with other Agile tools
• Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills

• Graduate with software engineering background
