Job Description


JOB SUMMARY

  • To assist the Plant Manager in the continuous improvement of the plants Logistic & warehouse function, providing support to the team.
  • This role, oversees the order processing, import and export activities, efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a wide range of goods including but not limited to finished goods, metal, chemicals, Scrap and packaging.
  • Assuring, the smooth running of the storage procedure, from the complicated logistics, to keeping an eye on the warehouse workers, scheduling shifts and ensuring staff are adequately trained. Juggling a variety of tasks.
  • Ensure the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. Supervise stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods.
  • Understanding the whole supply chain and coordinate effectively and liaise with customers, suppliers, fright and other service providers.

KEY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Limited to) 1. To ensure full compliance with safety regulations, company polices, code of conducts and maintain health and safety standards, hygiene and security in the work environment. 2. Ensuring safe goods storage 3. Liaising with customers, suppliers and transport companies. 4. Issue good receipts for all categories of supply 5. Organising the dispatch and delivery of goods, Issue delivery notes and other related documentation handling. 6. Support inventory management, stock control and physical counts 7. Manage storage space and handling equipment efficiently and making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met 8. keeping stock control systems up to date and making sure inventories are accurate 9. Supports strong logistics/warehouse/custom clearance relationship management 10. Supervise and coordinate service provider management including local bidding and selection; qualification; contracts; implementation and local negotiations. 11. Execute, follow up and track delivery process and ensure deliveries are met target dates and master planning schedules 12. Analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions 13. Identify local business opportunities and alternative service providers 14. Execute the agenda for supply chain savings initiatives with specific focus on delivery efficiency and cost. 15. Supervise and coordinate a full range of services necessary to oversee project planning and project management demands, right from master planning to execution. 16. Key member in projects execution teams assigned to meet equipment’s delivery time plan 17. Coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary 18. producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in any discipline with additional qualification must have experience of Logistic and warehouse Management
  • A suitable candidate will be a Self-Starter, Confident and self-assured with strong technical skill in Word, Excel and power point.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years relevant experience with sound knowledge managing the Warehouse and Logistic Function Independently.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
  • Participate in meetings and able to produce minutes, charts and data on verbal/ written instructions
  • Be able to prioritize work load
  • Work and deliver to deadlines
  • Practical use of LEAN techniques for business improvement.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and range of role
  • Proven work experience in Logistics and warehouse role
  • Experience in Sri City zone
  • Proven experience in a fast moving business function, preferred Can making industry
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
  • Fair financial understanding
  • Evidence of a strong and frequent communicator at all levels Microsoft office suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
  • SAP knowledge
