Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business the following provides an overview of the role's key responsibilities and measures:

  • Measure the value delivered by Product Induction and the outcomes and measures that needs to. be worked on to improve.
  • Assess new product opportunities (gather ideas research analyse refine and prioritise new requirements)
  • Run/execute experiments against the defined hypotheses to help in gathering enough data to drive key decisions
  • Formulate and present the future plans/roadmap for my Product area
  • Build and maintain a "well refined" product backlog including features bug-fixes and technical debt and stack rank those in terms of the business priorities
  • Document and explain new requirements to the engineering team using user stories personas and acceptance test criteria
  • Prioritise and execute the development of requirements/features by working with various functional teams like Design Development/Engineering Test Programme Management etc.
  • Handle and communicate product issues arising out of run/customer support
  • Plan and self-organize my work in line with the team plan and priorities
  • Ensure all stakeholders have a common/ shared understanding of the work being done and the value that is expected from of the outcome
Key Skills and Experience

You'll need to have demonstrated experience of:
  • Interest and enthusiasm for Tesco and for the product management role
  • A theoretical knowledge of Product management
  • Understanding of a typical Software Development Lifecycle and how software products are built
  • Prior experience in developing/managing a product (optional)
