Role Purpose:
- Manages and leads small to medium size projects and programs to improve product quality, product margins, productivity, unlocking production capacity, scale-up and introduce new products
- Becomes a technical expert in the plant\xe2\x80\x99s manufacturing technologies; supports and provides technical guidance and troubleshooting to Operations
- The incumbent has an impact on the company through knowledge and application of a technical discipline
- Develops and leads the execution of process improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, costs
- Supports or leads (depending on scale & complexity) new product or product renovation scale-up trials and production start-up
- Upholds Quality image standards. Appropriately addresses both project and non-project related quality or food safety issues when encountered
- Issues timely reports and updates to product specification & other required documentation as a result of project implementation
- Provides innovative new ideas and critical thinking to troubleshoot operations, process, or raw material related issues
- On-time delivery of assigned projects
- Improvement in plant OEE (efficiency) performance
- Improvement in food quality performance
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in science, engineering, or a related field, with minimum 3 years of experience
- Basic understanding of food processing, R&D, operations
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis & generating insights from data
- Must possess leadership, planning & coordination skills, good communication skills, cost consciousness and diplomacy
- Must be able to promote good relations with all facets of R&D, Supply Chain, Plant team and other technical / scientific disciplines in the effective execution of projects
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- This is an individual contributor role. There is no direct report but this role will be required to coach operations staff for the successful execution of new projects or process improvements
- Manages and leads the development & execution of 2-4 small to medium size projects. Assists in medium to large projects as needed.
- Leads or supports low to medium complexity R&D trials and production start-ups with guidance of manager or more senior R&D personnel
- This position is based full-time in a manufacturing facility in Bandar Enstek, Malaysia.
- Travel to and work in other manufacturing or R&D facilities may be required from time to time.
- International travel may include developing countries with exposure to additional stress relating to food, health and safety risk and prolonged time away from home.
- Projects frequently require working beyond the normal workday hours, shift work, and on weekends. Time-off in lieu will be provided, subject to manager\xe2\x80\x99s discretion.
- Operation of process equipment may be necessary.
