Job Description
Position: Editor/Associate Editor, Biomedicine-Life Sciences - Books
Location: New Delhi
Reporting Line: Report to the Editorial Director/Senior Editor
Functions and Duties
- Plan, acquire and manage book projects with key medical experts and clinician-scientists in South Asia
- Actively build up author/editor networks amongst the relevant scientific communities, basic and industrial research institutes as well as the learned societies
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in medicine; track emerging or hot topics.
- Become proficient with metrics, tools and databases to support acquisitions.
- Meets yearly budgets for contracts and published books
- Working closely within the organization with other commissioning editors, production department, sales department, and colleagues at various Springer Nature offices worldwide
- Attend conferences to meet with physicians and surgeons
- Publishing experience in books or journals is preferred
- Experience of working with researchers, KOLs and institutes/learned societies
- A master\'s degree or above in sciences or equivalent
- Proficient in oral and written English
- Willing to travel in India and around
- Strong organizational skills, orientation to details and capability of handling multiple priorities.
- High motivation with commercial thinking
