Job Summary
An Associate Editor-Copy Editing for a book or journal is responsible for ensuring that the content being published is error-free and expressed in a consistent style. He/she is supposed to ensure consistency in the style of presentation of information, that is, in the language of the text, in tables, figures, references, citations, etc. Responsibilities and Duties
The candidate is expected to perform the following tasks.

• Correct faulty grammar, syntax, and language usage.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, hyphenation, abbreviations, list formats.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency in footnotes, bibliographies, reference lists, tables, figures, and in-text citations.
• Check cross-references.
• Raise queries for any apparent factual inconsistencies or inaccuracies.
• Introduce consistent style and tone in multi-author manuscripts.
• Suggest changes to text and headings to improve the structure.
• Ensure that summaries, end-of-chapter questions, etc. reflect the content.
• Draw up a list of abbreviations if necessary.
• Check references for correctness.
• Ensure the use of appropriate and inclusive language.
• Flag any text that is overly complicated, confusing, or does not make sense and providing suggestions for revision.
• Check the structure of tables and amend, if necessary.
• Ask for clarification of terms/abbreviations likely to be new to readers.
• Rewrite text that is wordy, overly complicated, or confusing.
• Rework transitions, moving sentences, and reorganizing sentence structure to improve readability.

Required Experience and Qualifications
A Copy Editor must be post-graduate in any discipline with excellent proficiency in the English language. Post-graduates from a science background, especially life sciences, would be preferred.

Job Type: Full-time Salary: 918,976.00 - 935,281.00 per month Benefits:
