Market Reporter, Agriculture (Rice) The rice team assesses prices for and reports on all the major Asian origin markets, including Thailand, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar. The rice team contains price reporters in London and Gurgaon who work closely together to produce daily, weekly and monthly publications. Responsibilities : The Agriculture Market Reporter (Associate Editor, Rice) is responsible for every aspect of price reporting. This includes talking to market participants from all over the world in a highly international-facing role to collect market and pricing information. They must research and write news articles and analysis on major market events. They must publish price assessments and commentary about the market and contribute to methodology development. You will also have the chance to represent CI in face-to-face meetings, in webinars, podcasts, or other interviews. You will assist in identifying, developing, and executing assessment opportunities to drive growth in the Asian rice market. Day timings: Covering the rice market would involve starting work at 11am, and finishing the day at 8pm. Your Skills : BA degree or higher Two to five years\' reporting/writing/analytical/editorial experience Awareness of global commodity markets and economic principles Strong numeracy skills including ability to understand the basic principles of statistics and to apply basic maths functions in Excel Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally Self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills Ability to perform well to tight deadlines Excellent English writing skills Culturally and socially sensitive Preferred Qualifications : Experience or knowledge of agriculture sector, particularly rice Fluency in relevant international languages (such as written Urdu, Thai, Burmese, Mandarin Chinese) S&P Global delivers essential intelligence that powers decision making.
