The EPIQ Information Technology department is a shared services organization which supports all of EPIQ\'s datacenters and regional offices around the world. We have an outstanding new opportunity for an entry/junior level Database Administrator for SQL Server, reporting to the Team Lead, Database Services. This is a good opportunity for candidates seeking an entry in the IT area, specifically in the database domain. Responsibilities: Work as a member of a geographically-distributed DBA team, supporting multiple data centers around the world. Participate in shift system (day and night shifts in India) to provide 24x7 coverage for the client-facing production environment. Main responsibility is to deploy simple scripts against database servers, using the instructions provided. Monitoring all servers for performance condition alerts and escalating to other Senior DBAs. Required skills and abilities 1-2 years IT Operations with some understanding of SQL Server database principles and best practices. Exposure to T/SQL scripting and stored procedures. Self-motivated with the ability to be proactive and work well under tight deadlines and flexible hours. Team player with good intercommunication skills. Clients would sometime follow up via phone on the status of the tickets. Participate in periodic training sessions, to constantly update the knowledge. Optional skills BS Degree or Diploma in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred Any IT or DBA certification, a plus.
