Roles and Responsibility
Job Summary

  • The role will be required to implement and contribute to the development of Internal Communication and Staff Engagement responsibilities
Strategy
  • Support the design and execution of the communications strategy, content development for campaigns and events.
Business
  • Support the Head of Internal Comms in implementing the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s communication strategy in India
  • Design communication on sustainability initiatives and staff engagement events anchored by Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing (CABM)
  • Execute and drive content development that engages employee segments and leads to measurable action
  • Conceptualise and organise town halls and other bank-wide employee engagement programmes
  • Responsible for the development, distribution and maintenance of the India Newsletter, internal broadcasts, and the India Homepage on the Bridge
  • Effective use of Group-wide communications channels such as Poppulo, SC MediaSpace, and the Bridge
  • Work with stakeholders across the business / functions to develop internal communications campaigns that support the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and business objectives and help to embed our brand and values
  • Write and deliver high quality internal & external communications content and ensure we are telling more effective \xe2\x80\x98stories\xe2\x80\x99 about the Bank as we engage staff
  • Support the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s agenda through focussing on our staff and clients, supporting the execution of the strategy and culture change, and showcasing \xe2\x80\x98human stories\xe2\x80\x99
  • Develop content / campaigns around the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Sustainability, D&I and Employer Brand agenda
  • Review and upload media monitoring services on a daily basis
  • Ensures that internal communication is consistent and in alignment to Bank\xe2\x80\x99s strategic intent and ensure no breach of guidelines
  • Measures effectiveness of Internal Communications strategy at a country level
  • Regular co-ordination with the Communications team in the Group / Region for country opportunities in Regional / Group newsletters
Processes
  • Continuously enhance the mechanism for planning, execution, evaluation and best practice sharing
  • Ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of internal and external communications outcomes
  • Completing relevant internal reports with high quality and on-time; and continuously building digital communication expertise
Risk Management
  • Work closely with the Internal Comms & External Comms Lead and coordinate in the management of signification reputational risk
Governance
  • Managing internal and external communications resources within budget
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the community engagement to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.]
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association
Key stakeholders
  • Internal: India CEO\xe2\x80\x99s office; Country Management Team (CMT) and their offices; Group, Regional and Country Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing (CABM); Leadership Effectiveness / Organisational Development Teams (HR); Peers across the business and functions
  • External: Media; Vendors and suppliers
Other Responsibilities
  • Collaborating and coordinating with Regional and Group CABM team on relevant internal and corporate external communications initiatives
  • Understand, acknowledge and comply with the requirements on individual accountabilities and responsibilities of the job set out in applicable local laws and regulations as well as SCB internal policies
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 6-8 years of experience in communications practice
  • Proven track record in managing communications (preferably in banking sector), including managing reputational risk, building profile for the organization and senior executives, and consistently delivering high quality outcomes for communications initiatives
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s / Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a communication or business-related discipline
  • Proficient in MS Office skills - PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Canva and other design tools is preferred
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Poppulo is preferred
