We have an opportunity with a leading Connector manufacturing MNC for Assembly Manager for Bangalore Location Location: Bangalore Exp: 14 to 18 years Kindly share your profile on [HIDDEN TEXT] Role responsibilities: The Manager Assembly is responsible for overseeing the assembly department in a manufacturing facility. This role involves managing a team of assembly line workers and ensuring the efficient and timely assembly of products according to quality standards and production schedules. The Manager Assembly reports to the Manufacturing Operations Manager and works closely with other departments, such as production planning, quality assurance, and maintenance, to achieve operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Expertise in Automation & Process development in similar Industry Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of assembly line workers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training and development needs for the team. Develop and maintain dept. SOP, WI, flow charts, Formats and ensure compliance of the same. Production Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with the production planning department to develop production schedules and ensure alignment with customer demands and delivery commitments. Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain production efficiency. Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure the availability of necessary materials and components for assembly operations. Plan and execution of On job training, preparing skill matrix and identify training needs and development of team members 8 to 10 years experience in high precision mass production units with automation hands-on knowledge. Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures and standards to ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations. Conduct regular inspections and audits of the assembly line to identify any quality issues or deviations from specifications. Work closely with the quality assurance team to resolve quality concerns and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve assembly processes, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity while maintaining product quality. Analyze production data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to address efficiency, quality, or safety issues. Drive Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives to optimize assembly operations and eliminate waste. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the assembly department. Conduct regular safety inspections, promote safe work practices, and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards or risks. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, and implement preventive measures to minimize future occurrences. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including assembly reports, production metrics, and inventory levels. Prepare regular reports on assembly performance, highlighting key metrics such as productivity, quality, and adherence to schedules. Collaborate with the Manufacturing Operations Manager to provide input for budget planning, resource allocation, and capacity assessments. Qualifications and Requirements: Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on assembly line operations and process improvement. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control methodologies, and safety regulations. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Proficient computer skills, including experience with manufacturing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
