We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of ASP Team Capability Lead (Governance, Reporting & Rights, DPIA) DPO Offshore Support India GSC\xe2\x80\x99s

The role reports into the ASP DPO and the Team Leader (Data Protection Office \xe2\x80\x93 Centre of Excellence) and will have key risk management and oversight responsibilities to lead the Governance, Reporting and Rights capability of Data Protection Officer supporting activities for all ASP Region.

To support the DPOs by:

  • Acting as team capability lead for governance & rights team
  • Acting as DPIA team capability lead for offshore team
  • To manage the team providing support to the DPOs in monitoring internal compliance by informing and advising on its data protection obligations including acting as a contact for data subjects referrals.
  • Providing second line support to the Rights of Individuals process including the oversight of complex customer and staff requests for information (subject access) and other Rights, monitoring ROI breaches to ensure legal deadlines are adhered to and appropriate responses provided.
  • To work with the ASP DPOs to prepare DPO risk and board reports as required.
  • Provision of high quality, specialised advice, guidance, reporting and escalation in relation to data privacy, data ethics and information governance activities on matters, in particular regarding matters that are highly complex or have the potential for significant, financial and/or reputational impact. This will include co-ordination with the Legal where legal advice is required
  • To monitor legal compliance, identify shortcomings, and provide practical solutions
  • Provide appropriate Data expertise, with support from the wider DPO team, Risk & Compliance function, with specific focus on managing risks in relation to Data Privacy
  • Coordinating with HSBC\'s group-wide Data Privacy Officer ("DPO") teams operating across multiple jurisdictions. This includes building a strong network across the HSBC Group, supporting local DPOs in fulfilling their duties
  • Undertake and maintain records around any data privacy supervisory authority registrations

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Expertise of data privacy laws and the ability to provide practical guidance
  • Basic understanding of associated legislation which may have impact on the guidance
  • Knowledge of the banking products and services offered
EXPERIENCE
  • Proven ability in complaints handling
  • Providing practical and cost effective solutions
  • Broad business awareness
  • Banking experience (useful/not essential)
