EHS Regional Manager

As the regional manager of non-manufacturing EHS, you will be responsible to deploy and monitor the effectiveness of environment, health, safety and security programs for Micron's office and light manufacturing locations in the APAC region. You will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate policies, practices and objectives are defined and measured through performance metrics to ensure compliance to company policies and legal requirements. You will be required to collaborate with other Micron groups and to oversee the management of external consultants who provide local subject matter expertise for each location.

Primary job responsibilities include the following:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of Micron EHS regulations and company policy.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional/domestic regulations and company policy
  • Leads initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates
  • Establishes high quality relationships with both site and regional leadership
  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable EHS Policies and Micron regulatory requirements
  • Measure the regions and sites- performance against published requirements in EHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.
  • Ensure EHS recordkeeping and data integrity and provides Operations with accurate reporting and metrics to support business EHS initiatives.
  • Analyze EHS metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.
  • Analyze Global Safety Peer Review results and develop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other Micron sites.
  • Audit recordkeeping practices and Global EHS Database entries to ensure compliance to global EHS standards and local regulations.
  • Spend time at the fulfillment centers and seek input from EHS teams, Associates and leaders on EHS program improvement opportunities. Ensure open communication on status of progress and resolution against these suggestions.
  • Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required EHS training.
  • Review for effectiveness the deployed EHS tools and revise to ensure continual improvement.
  • Partner with corporate and other regional field EHS personnel to leverage global EHS and NMS sites.
  • (EH&S engineer) is responsible to develop and oversee programs to be implemented by the facility to meet legal requirements and environmental, health and safety policies adopted by the state government.
  • Oversee fire and building code analysis for entire site, enduring the building meets health safety.
  • Investigate Accidents, injuries to determine the route cause and take corrective & preventive actions accordingly.
  • Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment by using technique like safety audit, Job safety analysis, safety Inspection.
  • Ensure the Safety Compliance with established safety policies, procedures and practices.
  • Conduct Safety Training in areas of fall hazard, confined space entry, hazardous material handling, lifting equipment handling, aerial lift, Incident Investigation, scaffolding and Lockout System etc.
  • Daily Site/lab Visits to recognize hazards and take corrective & preventive actions accordingly
  • Execution of Project and global Safety Management
  • Conduct Safety Observation Tour for maintaining Safety and Quality standards.
  • Monitoring of Safety Contact and daily safety speech.
  • Safety Inspection of all lifting/lab tools & tackles and electrical equipment's.
  • Conducting Mock Drills (LL specific) for awareness and educate to employees about facility emergences and Ensure actions like Dos and Don'ts in the event of emergency.
  • Maintaining the Records of every hazard conditions Occurred In the factory.
  • To maintain records to comply Environmental and Occupational Health and safety standards i.e., ISO 14001,ISO 45001.
  • Monitoring of the work condition and making improvement of job patterns.
  • Conduct Safety Committee for discussion and resolving issues related to safety at the factory.
  • Define & address of all Legal & Other Requirements.
  • Implement the systems like OHSAS & EMS.
  • Regular inspection & audit of all Fire Appliances.
  • Coordination with sub-contractors on safety issues for planning & prepare safe working procedure for activities / sites.
  • Organizing the Safety Campaigns, Safety days, competition, & HSE Quiz monthly safe workers for motivation of workplace
  • Road Safety and Warehouse Safety Vehicle inspection, Conduct training on Defensive driver, First Aid, Conduct audit in warehouse and best practices of material Handlings.
  • To check/ Keep record of Ambient Air Quality and to assist with compliance to regulations applicable to emissions of toxic air contaminants.
  • Informing Laboratory Leaders/Owners of health and safety requirements and assisting with the selection of appropriate safety controls, including engineering controls, laboratory and other workplace practices and procedures, training, and personal protective equipment.
  • Helping to develop and implement appropriate chemical hygiene policies and practices.
  • Working with Departments and lab groups to develop and review SOPs for processes using hazardous chemicals.
  • Conducting periodic inspections and immediately taking steps to abate hazards that may pose a risk to life or safety upon discovery of such hazards.
  • Performing hazard assessments, upon request; and
  • Annually, reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of the Laboratory Safety Manual and making updates as appropriate.
