  • The candidate will play the role of Level 2 Application Support Specialist, for Functions within GTSM organization and will be directly accountable and responsible for managing various Data platform within Funtion Technology. In this Specialist role the candidate will own both service level management as well as support for assigned services within their domain. They will be reporting to Application Service and address technical issues and will be responsible for all aspects of support. This individual will act as the Individual contriubutor for all aspects of their services and this includes influencing required matrix teams to deliver production stability. This is a hybrid technical/SME role and the individual fulfilling this role will be able to both technically engage in issues but also present complex technical topics, influence, and guide non-technical second line of senior audiences. This individual will be accountable to maintain control within their domain including productivity/SLA reporting to ensure most efficient and effective utilization of assigned work and other peer.

What will you be doing?
  • SME Support
    • Driving complex and major incidents to resolution by owning the e2e incident
    • Contribute in Incident Post Mortem for major incidents ensuring root cause and mitigating measures to avoid recurrence is addressed appropriately.
    • Own the problem management function and work on to reduce the open problems by implementing fixes, collaborating with component teams.
    • Documentation
      • Create / Update / Maintain known error scenario documents
      • Contribute towards and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
      • Contribute towards and maintain KYA - Know Your Application document
  • Project Engagement & Onboarding
    • Review functional requirements, HLD, SDR and provide RtB point of view by collaborating with the project teams
    • Reviewing test strategy, test cases & test results and provide inputs from an RtB point of view.
    • Contribute in Operational Acceptance Testing (and Execute wherever possible) to ensure the new systems are production-ready
    • Ensure systems are built resilience-ready and collaborate with project to complete the mandatory resilience testing for each component
    • Provide early life support of new projects.
    • E2E Ownership of all BTB / RTB changes hitting the production environment.
  • Automation & Reliability
    • Automation of all manual checks such as SoD, EoD, Post-Release Live Proving, etc.
    • Identification of gaps in the existing alerting & monitoring followed by deep instrumentation to rationalize / reduce false alerts.
    • Driving continual service improvements across the Cards & Payment estate to help our customers achieve their ambitions.
    • Identification of Technical Debt / Issue, audit issues, TCSA and input them into ORAC.
    • Capacity & Demand Management
    • Implement self-healing to remove any manual intervention for incident recovery
    • Handover of all finished product output to technology operations Teams (L1/L2)

What we’re looking for:
  • Strong domain knowledge in banking or financial sector, especially Card Issuing & lending Systems
  • Sound understanding of and experience in SDLC (both Waterfall and Agile)
  • Strong work experience in real-time and large enterprise systems such as API Platforms including External, Process and System APIs.
  • Sound knowledge of & hands-on work experience in
    • Open Systems such as Unix and Linux
    • Experience with Ab-Initio ETL Platform such as CO>Operating system, component library, GDE, Enterprise METADATA framework and management
    • Good Hands-on experience on Ab-initio API Layer, interface publication, subscription and consumption reporting.
    • Working and hands on experience with Big Data Hadoop, Apache Spark, Kafka, Hive and HDFS (Hive, Impala, presto and SparkSQL)
    • Python, Java, J2EE involving programming as well debugging
    • Should have working experience on various Data hydration, distribution Development and support project with above mentioned underline technology.
    • Hands on experience to alerting & monitoring tools like AppD , Kibana, AppD synthetic ELK Netcool, ITRS Geneos
    • Investigating diagnostics such as Javacore and Heapdumps produced by the applications
    • Application Hosting Platforms such as Websphere, JBoss, IPlanet, Apache, Tomcat
    • Working knowledge of Network Technologies such as Load Balancers & Firewalls
    • DevOps Tools such as Jenkins, Chef, Nolio-nexus
    • Hands-on on Cloud Technologies such as OpenShift / aPaaS. Knowledge of AWS will be an added advantage.
    • Scripting – Writing & reading Shell, PL/SQL scripts
    • Databases – NoSQL based native-cloud database such as Aerospike or Cassandra
    • Databases – Working knowledge on enterprise RDBMS databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
    • Working Knowledge of API technologies, interface and web services
