• We are seeking a talented and experienced Android Framework Engineer to join our team.
• You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core functionalities of the Android framework, including system services, native services, libraries, the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), and contributing to optimizing battery life, power consumption, and overall system performance.
• You will also have a strong understanding of building and maintaining custom ROMs.
• This role requires exceptional knowledge of the Android architecture, in-depth understanding of Java and C/C++ programming, and expertise in system-level software development.
• You will collaborate closely with other engineers to ensure seamless integration and performance optimization within the Android framework.

Essential Job Functions:

• Design, develop, and maintain core components of the Android framework, including system services, native services, libraries, and the HAL layer.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of custom Android ROMs.
• Analyze and resolve complex system-level issues within the Android framework.
• Optimize performance and resource utilization of framework components, including battery life and power consumption.
• Develop and implement new features and functionalities within the Android framework, considering power efficiency and performance impact.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure compatibility with various hardware platforms and optimize power management.
• Participate in Android version upgrades and ensure compatibility with new features, including power management improvements.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools and infrastructure related to the Android framework.
• Collaborate with the CTS/VTS team to ensure framework components pass compatibility tests.
• Implement security using Android security frameworks (SELinux) and best practices.
• Implement Unit testing using automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Gmock, etc.).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in Android framework development.
• Expert in Java and C/C++ programming languages & Strong knowledge of system-level programming concepts and Linux internals.
• Experience with Android system services, native services, libraries, and the HAL layer.
• Familiarity with building and maintaining custom Android ROMs.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills & Ability to work independently and as part of a team & excellent communication and collaboration skills.
