About the role:
We are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer responsible for making our platform application more scalable and reliable. An AWS Specialist is expected to understand all the core AWS services including EKS, ECS, EC2, and S3. You will need to be able to deploy microservices and web service APIs on AWS using a CI/CD approach. You will also be responsible for setting up a monitoring stack. Metrics obtained from monitoring will be used for service capacity planning.
Experience in programming languages including Java, Python, and bash is preferred. It is also preferred that you have experience with data processing and data warehouses, AWS Batch, Glue, Data Pipelines, RedShift, and Athena. You must have deep automation experience in build, test, deployment automation, post-release surveillance, and monitoring.
Key responsibilities:

• Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform
• Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes on AWS
• Experience developing cloud-native CI/CD workflows and tools, such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, Code Deploy (AWS), and/or GitLab.
• Automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation on AWS
• Work closely with developers to implement continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS
• Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS
• Build tools and processes to support the infrastructure
• Informally train and share AWS knowledge within the team
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, using CloudFormation, Terraform, or other tools.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Dockers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices.

You must have:

• Overall 6+ years of IT experience in any OS systems administration
• Min 2+ years provisioning, operating and managing AWS platform environments
• Certified on at least one: AWS DevOps Engineering, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
• Proficient with AWS services: Compute and Network, Storage and CDN, Database, Analytics, Application Services, Deployment, and Management
• Experience with monitoring and log aggregating frameworks such as Kafka, Logstash, Splunk, ElastiSearch, and Kibana.
• Experience with multi-tier architectures: load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, and networking
• Familiarity interacting with AWS APIs & API Gateway
• AWS Disaster Recovery design and deployment across regions a plus
• Experience in automation and testing via scripting & programming (TFS, PowerShell, Jenkins, Java, Python, Ruby
• Self-starter excited to relentlessly solve many technical challenges
• Strong presentation, verbal communication, and written communications skills.
• Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team
• BS / BE in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience is preferred
