A software tester is responsible for evaluating software products and systems to ensure they meet required specifications and are fit for their intended purpose. This can involve the following tasks:
1. Writing and executing test cases to validate software functionality
2. Identifying and reporting software bugs and defects
3. Participating in code and design reviews to ensure quality standards are met
4. Collaborating with software developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure software meets business and end-user requirements
5. Evaluating and recommending software testing tools and strategies
6. Keeping up-to-date with current software testing trends and industry developments.
