Prepare and execute daily, weekly, and monthly weaving production plans.
Ensure loom planning based on order priority, fabric construction, and machine availability.
Monitor production targets, efficiency, and delivery timelines.
Coordinate with PPC, sourcing, dyeing, and finishing departments for smooth workflow.
2. Operations & Machine Management
Ensure optimal loom performance (Airjet, Rapier, Projectile, Sulzer, etc.).
Oversee beam gaiting, knotting, and style changes to minimize downtime.
Ensure proper machine settings for fabric quality and production efficiency.
Troubleshoot weaving defects and machine issues.
3. Quality Control
Ensure production meets specified fabric quality standards.
Reduce defects such as broken picks, missing ends, double ends, oil stains, etc.
Conduct root-cause analysis for quality issues and take corrective actions.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance to implement preventive measures.
4. Workforce & Team Management
Lead supervisors, fitters, weavers, helpers, and shift staff.
Allocate manpower effectively across shifts.
Conduct training programs for skill enhancement of operators and technicians.
Maintain discipline, motivation, and safety awareness among staff.
5. Material Management
Monitor yarn availability, beam stock, and required accessories.
Ensure proper handling of yarn, beams, drop wires, heald frames, and other weaving materials.
Coordinate with the store and purchase departments for timely procurement.
6. Efficiency & Cost Optimization
Improve loom efficiency, reduce waste, and control downtime.
Optimize energy consumption and minimize operating costs.
Implement lean manufacturing, preventive maintenance, and productivity tools (5S, Kaizen).
7. Maintenance Coordination
Plan routine and preventive maintenance with maintenance teams.
Ensure breakdowns are addressed promptly to avoid production loss.
Monitor the condition of looms, dobby, jacquard, compressors, and allied equipment.
8. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain daily production reports, loom efficiency records, and quality analysis reports.
Report deviations, stoppages, and corrective actions to management.
Assist in audits and compliance documentation.
9. Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and statutory requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized weaving shed.
Conduct safety drills and enforce PPE usage.
