We are looking for a skilled Waiter/Waitress to take orders and deliver food and beverages to our guests. The ideal candidate will enhance the dining experience through excellent service, strong communication, and a positive attitude. Waiter/Waitress responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, presenting menus, taking orders accurately, serving dishes, and processing payments. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate service. The role may require working in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
Greet and escort customers to their tables
Present the menu and provide detailed information when requested (e.g., portions, ingredients, allergens)
Prepare tables by setting up linens, plates, cutlery, and glasses
Inform customers about daily specials
Offer menu recommendations when appropriate
Upsell additional items when suitable
Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS software or order slips
Verify age requirements for alcoholic beverage service
Communicate order details clearly to the kitchen staff
Serve food and beverage orders promptly and professionally
Check dishes and glassware for cleanliness and presentation
Maintain tidy and organized dining areas
Deliver checks and collect payments
Carry used plates, glasses, and cutlery to the dishwashing area
Coordinate with restaurant staff regarding specials, menu changes, and reservation requirements
Follow all health and safety guidelines
Provide excellent customer service throughout the dining experience
Requirements & Skills
Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
Hands-on experience with cash registers or POS systems (e.g., Revel POS, Toast POS)
Basic math skills
Patience and attentiveness when dealing with customers
Excellent presentation and grooming standards
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Active listening and effective communication skills
Team-oriented mindset
Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
High school diploma preferred; food safety training is an advantage
