The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

This is a role within Plan to Perform (P2P) FP&A Reporting and Analytics team, based in India. The team is responsible for delivery of end-to-end insightful analytics, across actuals, forecasting and planning for Group Financials including P&L, Balance Sheet, Risk Weighted Assets (RWAs), Franchise EVA and Net Interest Margin (NIM).

The role will be key enabler to deliver the change to the new Enhanced-F reporting, including engagement in transition of existing processes and policies as well as contribute in building the foundation of the new strategic planning tool for the above areas.

The role suits an individual who will conceptualise, problem solve and think laterally to manage dynamic and unique issues.

This is a role within a small multi-locational team, and a collaborative approach is imperative. The role will require high degree of flexibility and ability to adapt at short notice to variable requirements. A seasoned professional responsible for managing end to end reporting demands, prioritisation and project management, with an ability to act as a bridge between functional owners, technology and project team.

  • NFRP lead to deliver the Reporting Strategy for the team, looking across Actuals (in-year) and Plan (5-year)
  • SPOC / working Group member managing demand, prioritisation, change requests and implementation - liaise with consultant, project team, Businesses / Function teams.
  • Scope and document the business requirements (existing and future) for modelling and reporting and ensure project delivery is aligned, present status reports papers to key stakeholders including key risks, resolutions and benefits.
  • Partner with the Process Optimisation team and BAU process owners to drive an independent process review, to ensure alignment to Control and Governance framework around project governance and BAU for EUC\xe2\x80\x99s, process maps, DOIs, etc.
  • Drive the design of future reporting requirements for performance management through actuals, forecast and plan; including supporting technology in delivery of data mapping from source systems.
  • Support digital team with dashboard build; assess existing dashboards for relevance and support transition to new strategic tools.
  • Support BAU team on query resolution on modelling and reporting across various deliverables.
  • Train BAU team on reporting and system changes.
People and Talent
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
  • Responsibility to review team structure / capacity plans.
Risk Management
  • Responsibilities relating to identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them. For example -The ability to interpret the Group\xe2\x80\x99s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
All responsibilities under the Risk Management Framework - both execution and supervisory - should be referenced, for example, Act as the [Process] risk control owner under the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Risk Management Framework (including relevant Operational Risk Framework ownership for [Liquidity].

Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Our Ideal Candidate
  • An experienced finance professional with relevant experience in Banking / Financial Services industry, with an understanding of the Bank\'s business and performance drivers.
  • A resilient and confident self-starter, enthusiastic and eager to learn, with a problem-solving mindset / approach.
  • A strong understanding of systems like Hyperion, SAP, BPC, SAC, Tableau, Dataiku (or any combination thereof).
  • Detail oriented with the ability to draw out key messages for presenting to senior management.
  • Experience of managing Change projects or performed business analyst PMO type roles.
  • Team player, in a fast paced and dynamic environment, often high pressured.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
