As an experienced Infrastructure Development and SRE professional, your mission is to help lead our team of innovators and technologists toward creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. Your hands-on knowledge in system design, application development, testing and operational stability will help your team deliver high quality products. You'll be instrumental in solving more difficult technical issues, developing integration elements, building data models, APIs, and open 3rd-party SDKs and helping application owners set the direction for modernization for their application and successfully migrate their functions and applications to the public cloud. The Infrastructure Developer and Cloud SRE role will be responsible for engaging across Compute and Cloud technology platforms, working at the intersection of technology and business strategy, leading organizational, operational and technology change now and in the future. You will therefore have a proven track record in the delivery of application modernization, application cloud migration, advancing the business & application development. Your significant contribution to development and implementation of strategy and policy is enabled by your expert knowledge of technology architecture principles and software development practices and tools. You have an understanding of product-based organization and are comfortable working in an agile framework. Your natural engagement and collaboration skills will allow you to harness the collective creativity of our technologists around the world.

Along with providing SRE support of our development and automation infrastructure, you will play a critical role in the evolution of J.P. Morgan's Cloud and Application Modernization strategy, responsible for providing technical application solution Architecture, working with technical staff, analyzing requirements, outlining and communicating proposed solutions and enabling our business and technology partners to succeed across Compute and in the Cloud.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Requires BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, implementation and delivery.
  • Requires understanding of cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages
  • Requires software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: C#, .Net, Python, Java, C, C++, Go
  • Experience with developing frameworks that helps increasing developer and release velocity, improving code health and technical standards desired
  • Advanced experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, enterprise Windows and Active Directory environments, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large scale software development, security software development desired
  • Understanding and experience with configuration management and server deployment systems desired
  • Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication required
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
  • Experience in writing effective queries and code to retrieve data from RDBMS (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Sybase) and troubleshooting database issues
  • Continually educate yourself to keep up on the latest developments in the field and apply those to advance yourself and the firm
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the delivery of technology service, automation and platform strategy, advancing the business and technology products, roadmaps and disciplines
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate significant contribution to development and implementation of technology, strategy and policy to drive business value enabled by expert knowledge of enterprise technology architecture principles and software development practices and tools.
  • The successful candidate should be comfortable organizing working groups for postmortem analysis to drive change via new architecture & modernization, across towers
  • The successful candidate will be able to lead partners and contributors via influence, managing ongoing working groups, thoroughly documenting throughout each engagement, updating and effectively interacting with technical resolvers and executives with equal ease
