The Role Responsibilities Job Role The core responsibilities of the role, includes Accountable for design and target operating model for financial reconciliation investigation in GBS for CPBB leveraging on global TLM system and core operational systems. Interface with COO teams and financial control teams both as part of ongoing break management, ageing and monitoring, and engagement with global finance teams on financial control policies and transformation programs run by finance to the extent it impacts reconciliations and CPBB Operations. This includes dialogue with second line of defence namely Finance function for operations owned accounts which would entail interpretation of Financial Control policy, author standards specific to retail and design and execute programs for embedding them across the markets. Role extends to lead the TP General Ledger reconciliation centralisation across markets done now done in countries. Create framework for right focus on operational efficiency, controls, financial integrity, exception management, risks around aged items, to enable best in class client experience and financial controls. Augment reconciliation match automation initiatives involving non-standardised or unstructured reconciliation sources and next best alternative to enable standardization, controls and efficiency and eliminate manual efforts. Lead and drive digital transformation initiatives benefiting GBS Operations. Liaise with Technology partner on data and transformation requirements, testing and implementation. Adopt agile methodology, develop user stories, manage product backlogs and prioritization. Manage accounting compendium for retail from an operations perspective including linkages with product program and allied documentation. This involves leveraging on core accounting knowledge and deep domain knowledge of retail products, platforms, client transaction life cycle and settlement life cycle with counterparties such central banks, exchange houses, VISA, Master Card and payment aggregators and engage with country and global product heads in RB business on end to end accounting, settlement and reconciliation areas. Transactional authority for all the Transaction Processing Systems used in Retail Banking. Strategy Define and drive the reconciliation strategy for Operations based on the Retail Banking Global Reconciliation function across markets, products and account types. Define and lead the Retail GBS Investigation and GPGL Team in GBS, defining and driving the overall strategy for the global processes, controls and technology solutions within the function. As a control stakeholder to the underlying operations, act in a directing and influencing capacity with the stakeholders regarding the recon strategy to secure ongoing support for the business process and technology changes required to deliver high standard of reconciliation controls. Continuously appraise internal and industry strategies and approaches to ensure best practices and innovative solutions are being utilized. Support Product, Operations and other Value centres on a day to day basis in areas of process changes, improvements and new product launches. Play an active role in developing the business requirements on system enhances and follows through till delivery of requirements. Lead re-engineering initiatives along with other value centres like Operations, Service and Distribution for identification of cost-saves, process improvement opportunities and customer service enhancement. Employ, engage, and retain high performance people, to maximise the success of design and delivery, with succession planning for critical roles. Ensure team structure / capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes. Ensure the provision of on-going training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risk. Develop a team structure to meet the needs of all stakeholders in line with Operations expectations. Risk Management Familiarize with Group Operational Risk, Group Money Laundering Prevention and other Policy and Procedures to the extent applicable. Comply with all applicable rules / regulations and Company and Group Policies. Ensure adherence to all SLAs and proper updation of all logs such as TAT, system downtime, errors and exceptions log. Carry out BCP tests, continually review and upgrade effectiveness of contingency measures. Ensure compliance with all zero tolerance areas at all time.
