We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:
This position is responsible for the application design, development and documentation of applications to satisfy the requirements of one or more user areas.
Include hands-on new development as well as support, maintenance or enhancement of existing applications.
Works closely with product managers and Developers to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes.
Candidate should be proficient in creating technical and functional artefacts. Also should be good in managing immediate stakeholders.
Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations.
The application designer should possess a thorough understanding of the product from both a functional and technical perspective.
He or she should have a comprehensive understanding of the implementation methodologies for the technology being utilized in product development and all required Product Development standards and principles.

The application designer participates in every aspect of the development and implementation, working with development Application manager to ensure full understanding of the change implications to current business processes.
Experience in agile methodology or Scrum Framework or Iterative Delivery model.

What will you be doing?
Application Design

  • Designs systems and programs to meet highly complex business needs.
  • Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as functional and technical documentation.
  • Gathers information from existing systems, analyses the system and performance requirements.
  • Provides consulting services in a technical and/or managerial capacity to management and technical Developer staff.
  • Manage a group of Developers and inculcate team spirit.
  • Working closely with the Project Manager and team.
  • Thinks outside of the box to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives rather than just responding to a pre-defined request.
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring that solutions adhere to architectural vison and quality standards and policies and meets the business requirements.
  • Able to rationalise between different solution options and define pros and cons based on a driving forces from a commercial, operational and technology viewpoint.
  • Manage end-to-end traceability of business requirements from initial scoping through application-design till live deployment
What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • University qualifications in Digital, Computing or Technology related subjects (e.g. STEM subjects).
  • System design and documentation with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in IT project work (Infrastructure, Application development, IT-Management); preferably in an agile environment
  • Should have good functional as well as technical knowledge of VisionPLUS
  • Other than primary skills of CMS; good to have expertise in other subsystems of VisionPLUS
  • Should have strong mainframe technical skills.
  • Should be a good team player
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong credit card business solutions software design skills
  • Ability to retain the big picture perspective while delving into the detail.
  • Communication and presentation (incl. to senior management).
  • Demonstrable and sound commercial understanding of the Financial Services Industry. Able to apply judgment and analytical rigour to assess business value from IT or regulatory change projects.
  • Understanding of Agile and Lean.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Good understanding of the processing of different financial products.
  • Stakeholder Management - Able to challenge stakeholders creatively and professionally to create solutions which meet all of the above criteria but which are not necessarily obvious responses to pre-defined requests.
