Job Opportunity: Head of Taxation (VP Level)

Location: Chennai, India

Company: Leading Product-Based IT Sector

We are seeking an accomplished Head of Taxation to lead our taxation efforts in Chennai. This role is crucial for our client organization and requires strong expertise in both direct and indirect taxation. The ideal candidate will be at the VP level and possess a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, along with 15 to 20 years of relevant experience. This is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) role, overseeing a team of 3-4 tax experts, and it is essential that candidates have worked within the IT sector. Experience in Audit Consulting is also considered.

Key Requirements:

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.

Experience: 15 to 20 years of experience in taxation, with a background in direct and indirect taxation.

Industry Preference:

- Strong preference for candidates with prior experience in the IT industry.

- Candidates from BPO, non-tech, or call center backgrounds will not be considered.

Global Exposure: Basic understanding of global taxation rules is desirable.

Leadership: As the Head of Taxation, you will lead a team of 3-4 tax experts.

Location: The role is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee all aspects of direct and indirect taxation for our organization in India.

- Lead and mentor a team of tax experts, fostering their growth and development.

- Ensure compliance with India\'s taxation regulations and stay informed about global taxation rules.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tax-related insights and support decision-making.

Compensation:

Competitive Compensation: INR 45-50 LPA (inclusive of 12% variable component).

Additional Language Skills: Proficiency in Tamil language is considered a plus.
