Hybrid Working We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date. Introduction: The role exists to act as a key SME for Barclays\' hedge accounting function supporting business activities across a number of legal entities in the Barclays group. . What will you be doing . Manage aspects of the central hedging solution - ensuring robust application of controls, reviewing and challenging financial results as necessary . Manange the day to day BAU run out of Chennai Hedge accounting team . Act as a key SME for Hedge Accounting\'s risk and control framework: . Involving assistance around identification and coordination of risk events . Embedding PC and FC control framework within HA operation . Assisting coordination around EUDA, RCSA and other key control assessment activities . Provide ad hoc hedge accounting advice and insight to business stakeholders . Direct aspects of the function\'s technology development identifying issues, defining and reviewing business requirements, and ensuring that development and user testing is carried out to the highest standard What we\'re looking for: . Hedge accounting knowledge [cash flow and fair value], ideally gathered in a financial institution with interest rates being the key managed risk . Excellent written and verbal communication skills tested in a variety of mediums including presentations, policy documents and stakeholder meetings/forums . Ability to manage multiple interconnected and disperate deadlines and deliveries, proactively forecasting or reacting to a fast changing set of requirements . Demonstrable significant experience of managing change projects within a finance function . Experience of linking entity results through to financial statement production . Experience of team leadership and developing people . Fully qualified accountant, with extensive post qualification experience . Degree (or higher) educated, from a top tier university Skills that will help you in the role: . Strong control awareness . Confident and assertive manner .
