Job Description

A Vehicle Maintenance Manager in the automotive field oversees the maintenance and repair of a vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable, and cost-effective. This includes managing technicians, scheduling maintenance, handling parts inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising and Managing Staff:
Hiring, training, and motivating a team of technicians or mechanics.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
Developing and implementing maintenance schedules, including preventative maintenance and repairs, to maximize vehicle availability and minimize downtime.
Parts and Inventory Management:
Overseeing the ordering, storage, and management of parts and supplies to ensure timely availability for repairs.
Budget Management:
Managing the budget for vehicle maintenance, including forecasting expenses and tracking costs.
Ensuring Compliance:
Ensuring that all vehicle maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
Diagnosing complex mechanical problems and overseeing repairs, often acting as a technical expert.
Performance Monitoring:
Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to vehicle maintenance, such as repair costs, downtime, and safety incidents, and implementing improvements.
Vendor Management:
Managing relationships with external vendors for parts, supplies, and specialized repairs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures, including engine diagnostics, electrical systems, and other relevant areas.
Management and Leadership:
Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain accurate records.
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to diagnose complex mechanical problems and develop effective solutions.
Knowledge of Safety Regulations:

Experience:

Education:
