Job Location: Initially in Philadelphia, PA to support ongoing Validaiton and test campagin activities for AMTRAK Next Generation High Speed project at the AMTRAK facility in Philadelphia (Penn Coach Yard) and also the customer facilities/depots as per dynamic shifts of the train. Once the AMTRAK mission is completed, the candidate will based in HORNELL (NY) site in USA and continue supporting other projects in NAM Engineering Validaiton team. Purpose of the Job He/she performs the Certification and Validation activities for part of the train delegated by the TVE during project execution He/she writes the Train test procedures He/she carries out type, validation or investigation tests, and preparing reports He/she defines and implements the most appropriate testing methodology and means of testing He/she develops test operating modes and analyses test results Position in the Organisation Organisation Reporting Hierarchical : TTL Test Team Leader or SCVM Site Certification & Validation Manager Functional : TVE Train Validation Engineer Network & Links Internal Interfaces : Site Certification and Validation Manager, Validation Engineer, Test Laboratory Manager, Test LAboratory Engineer, Technical Experts, Train System Engineer, Project Core team, Certification and Validation managers/engineers External Interfaces : Test infrastructure providers, Suppliers of test equipment, External Test laboratories, Customers representatives, Engineering subcontractors Performance Measurement Timely execution of the test program % of rework of test report % of rework of test procedures Responsibilities Accountable for: Defining the most appropriate test methodology, testing means and developing the test operating mode in accordance within the costs time and pass-fail criterion set for the test. Executing tests and providing reports. Responsible for : For Tests : Preparing the tests he is responsible for: Participating in the design and the development of the tools necessary for performing the tests Implementing, verifying (functional), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test. Preparing the equipment for testing. Validating that the applied configuration and pre requisite testing allows the testing to proceed. Respecting EHS rules notably implementing LockOut TagOut instruction. Supervising and/or executing test activities, analysing test results \'live\' and deciding if test has to be redone or not Test results data analysis, writing static and dynamic test reports For validation : Executing activities given by the Train Validation Engineer (TVE) Updating the Validation Plan Consolidating the specification of tools and test means (climatic chamber, train, ...) Tools & means procurement (design, purchase, reservation,) Writing Train System test procedures Ensuring the timely issuing of the Validation proves (including proves of lower level systems and components) and consolidates Validation files Providing structured REX to feed costing activities, and to enrich the CV metier technical repository Job Specifications Knowledge & Experience Train system knowledge (system analysis, railways) : at least 2 years Tests organization capability, knowledge of planning tools Fluent in English Expected skills according to a functional test: Functional test execution capability on some of the FBS functions of the following domains: Train network, TCMS software functions, TCMS electrical functions, Traction, Braking, Auxiliary supply and energy management, Doors, PACIS, Signalling. Experience in TCMS development and/or validation. Knowledge of electrical vs software design on train.
