About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced agriculture underwriter with hands on experience in agriculture insurance/ reinsurance business and practices for high quality underwriting and client management to join our Agriculture Reinsurance Team at Swiss Re in Mumbai.

In this role, you will be responsible for costing, pricing, and underwriting complex agriculture reinsurance treaties and facultative business including primary market tendering business. You will be be working closely with clients for maintaining & developing relationship and with internal cross functional teams to strengthen Swiss Re\'s position in the Indian market.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for quality underwriting, costing & pricing of Indian agriculture reinsurance business in adherence with Swiss Re\'s underwriting guidelines and best practices
• Responsible for maintaining and developing clients & Agri-stakeholder relationship in coordination with the Head Agriculture
• Continuous Data analytics, data management and processing & analysis of agriculture insurance and reinsurance market data & information
• Skilled in finding the right approach to bridge data gaps in pricing of agriculture insurance schemes
• Responsible of collating pricing & claims data and presenting it for companies\' business need for business planning and execution
• Key role in portfolio steering and managing clients in coordination with Head Agriculture
• Working towards developing solutions for Indian Agriculture business
• Play key role in providing statistical & actuarial solutions for pricing & costing for the market
• To build and maintain client\'s relationship and differentiating service to the clients

About You

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in insurance or reinsurance underwriting/ actuarial / pricing. Knowledge of agriculture business in India will be an advantage
• Effective communication skills and solid working relationship with various stakeholders in agriculture business
• Highly Self-motivated and able to engage, empower and work in agile team environment
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work accurately and deliver to deadlines
• Proficient in pricing for Indian Agriculture schemes & claim management
• Resilient and agile personability to adapt to demanding and changing market environment
• Good in Data analytics, data management and processing
• Good at problem solving and ready to take on new initiatives
• Graduate or Post-graduate in Agriculture/ Actuarial Science/ Finance/ Agronomics/ Statistics/ Computer Engineering/ Insurance and related discipline
• Proficient in using Microsoft products like excel, power point etc
• Understanding and coding skill for MATLAB, R and similar software tools & languages
• Knowledge & understanding of emerging technology in agriculture insurance is an advantage
