About the role We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced agriculture underwriter with knowledge of actuarial subjects & practices for high quality underwriting and client management to join our Agriculture Reinsurance Team at Swiss Re in Mumbai. In this role, you will be responsible for pricing, costing and underwriting complex agriculture reinsurance business including primary market tendering business and will be working closely with clients and internal cross functional team to strengthen Swiss Re\'s position in India market. Key responsibilities: Responsible for quality underwriting, costing & pricing for Indian agriculture reinsurance business in adherence to Swiss Re\'s underwriting guidelines and best practices Responsible for Data analytics, data management and processing Finding the right solutions approach to bridge data gaps in pricing of agriculture insurance schemes Responsible of collating pricing & claims data and presenting it for companies\' business need for business planning and execution Key role in portfolio steering and management Helping team in developing solutions to Indian Agriculture business Helping team in providing statistical & actuarial solutions for pricing & costing for the market To build and maintain client\'s relationship and differentiating service to the clients About the team Swiss Re is a global leader in agricultural reinsurance. You will work with a strong global team of more than 30 Agriculture reinsurance specialists based in Mumbai, Beijing, Zurich, Singapore, Mexico and Sao Paulo. You will be also in close cooperation with Swiss Re\'s agriculture R&D unit, where you will gain in-depth knowledge and experience in Swiss Re\'s agriculture reinsurance modeling and new product development. About You Minimum 5 years work experience in Agriculture insurance or reinsurance underwriting/ pricing with knowledge of agriculture business in India Good in Data analytics, data management and processing Understanding and coding skill for MATLAB, R and similar software tools & languages Proficient in pricing for Indian Agriculture schemes & claim management Highly Self-motivated and able to engage, empower and work in agile team environment Good at problem solving and ready to take on new initiatives Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to work accurately and deliver to deadlines Effective communication skills and solid working relationship with various stakeholders in agriculture business Resilient and agile personability to adapt to demanding and changing market environment Graduate or Post-graduate in Agriculture/ Actuarial Science/ Finance/ Agronomics/ Statistics/ Computer Engineering/ Insurance and related discipline Proficient in using Microsoft products like excel, power point etc Knowledge & understanding of emerging technology in agriculture insurance is an advantage
