What will you do at Ciena The Blue Planet software division is seeking a stellar Software Engineer for new initiatives in the Enterprise network automation space. The candidate will be responsible for developing closed-loop network automation solutions on top of the Blue Planet platform to serve the Enterprise market. The Blue Planet platform is based on a modern software architecture that leverages open-source technologies, model-driven templates and container-based micro-services. The right candidate will be a solid developer with exceptional collaboration skills, and a track record of delivering products in a high performance environment. Responsibilities Develop web-based GUI for the new Blue Planet Enterprise product line Design, develop, test beautiful graphical components that communicate intuitive network concepts while hiding complexity of the underlying telecommunication/networking technologies and data science Develop high-performance streaming web application on top of a cloud-based Big-Data platform Able to work independently and good technical/communication skills to collaborate in a global team. General Activities Write software programs, together with unit and integration tests and technical documentation Integrate components from open source projects with our home-grown code base Participate in Agile Scrum meetings and DevOps process Collaboration with stakeholders Daily collaboration with UX designers, software engineers, testers and data scientists Work in a global team environment Occasional interactions with partners and customers Experience Proficient with Typescript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SVG Proficient with frameworks such as Node.js and Angular10 or latest 14 (preferred), React, Ember, Vue, as well as JS libraries like D3.js, ECharts, Plotly.js, Polymer.js, etc. Proficient with testing frameworks such as Protractor, Jasmine, Selenium Good understanding of performance and rendering behavior of streaming big-data Experience with Telecom NOCs, TAC, OSS an asset Experience with CI/CD and cloud deployments is an asset Experience with mobile application development is an asset At Ciena, we are committed to building and fostering an environment in which our employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
