Job Description

Key Responsibilities1. Itinerary Design & Local Expertise (Primary Focus)



Kolkata Mastery:

Design creative, authentic, and highly personalized travel itineraries that showcase the best of Kolkata (e.g., heritage walks, food tours, colonial architecture, river cruises, cultural events like Durga Puja).

Regional Knowledge:

Develop and sell packages for destinations accessible from Kolkata, such as the Sundarbans, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Dooars, Puri, and other key locations in East and North East India.

Product Development:

Continuously research and identify new local attractions, unique experiences, boutique hotels, and reliable ground service providers in Kolkata and Bengal.

Logistics Management:

Advise clients on the most efficient and practical local transportation within Kolkata (Metro, tram, taxi/cab services) and regional transport (train, flight, and road connections).

2. Sales and Client Management



Consultative Sales:

Engage with clients (via phone, email, and in-person) to understand their travel needs, budget, and preferences, providing expert, tailored recommendations.

Target Achievement:

Meet and exceed individual monthly/quarterly sales targets for domestic tour packages and standalone bookings (flights, hotels, activities).

Booking Management:

Handle end-to-end booking of flights, railway tickets, hotel accommodations, local transfers, and activity vouchers using the company's booking software and GDS systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo, if applicable).

Documentation:

Process client payments, manage booking confirmations, and ensure all travel documents (invoices, vouchers, travel guides) are prepared accurately and delivered on time.

3. Operational and Administrative Duties



Vendor Relations:

Maintain strong relationships with local hotels, transport operators, guides, and activity providers in Kolkata and the region to secure competitive rates and high-quality service.

Problem Resolution:

Proactively manage and resolve any client issues or travel disruptions before or during the trip.

Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, sales pipelines, and bookings in the CRM system.

Required Qualifications & Skills



Experience:

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Travel Consultant, Travel Agent, or a similar role in the travel/tourism industry.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent qualification in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.

Local Knowledge (Essential):

In-depth, verifiable knowledge of Kolkata's major landmarks, hidden gems, local culture, cuisine, and logistics is mandatory.

Sales & Communication:

Proven sales ability with excellent verbal and written communication skills in

English and Bengali

(knowledge of other regional languages is a plus).

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using reservation systems (GDS or in-house booking tools), MS Office, and CRM software.

Highly organized, meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a genuine passion for travel and customer service.
