Key Responsibilities: Vehicle sourcing: Need to hire goods vehicle from vendors as per company requirements Fleet Management: Manage and maintain the company\'s fleet of vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other transportation equipment. Routing and Scheduling: Develop efficient transportation routes and schedules to optimize delivery times and reduce costs. Driver Supervision: Oversee a team of drivers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation. Ensure drivers adhere to safety protocols and maintain the required licenses. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws and regulations, including driver hours-of-service regulations, vehicle maintenance, and safety standards. Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory and warehouse teams to coordinate the movement of goods and materials in and out of the facility. Cost Control: Monitor transportation expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety and quality. Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring timely and accurate deliveries and addressing customer inquiries or concerns. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and compliance documentation. Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for transportation-related incidents, such as accidents or breakdowns. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in transportation operations.
