Key Responsibilities of a Trainee Waiter:

Customer Service:

Greeting guests, seating them at tables, and providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Order Taking:

Assisting with taking accurate food and drink orders from customers.

Food and Beverage Service:

Serving food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.

Table Maintenance:

Ensuring tables are clean, set up correctly, and cleared after service.

Communication:

Communicating effectively with customers, kitchen staff, and other waitstaff.

Menu Knowledge:

Learning about menu items, specials, and ingredients.

Health and Safety:

Adhering to all relevant health department regulations and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.

Upselling:

Suggesting additional menu items, drinks, or appetizers to customers.

Payment Handling:

Assisting with processing payments and handling cash transactions.

General Assistance:

Performing various tasks as assigned by supervisors, such as polishing silverware, restocking supplies, and cleaning.

Teamwork:

Working collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Skills and Qualifications:

Customer Service Skills:

Friendly, polite, and attentive to customer needs.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and colleagues.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays.

Teamwork Skills:

Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

Eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to different situations.
