Trade Operation Manager

You will be working as Trade Operation Manager and will be part of Electrification business for Distribution Solutions division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Sales Operations Manager and will be responsible for the indirect tax (custom, export, import, foreign trade policy, and other indirect taxes, port activities relate to EXIM) matters of the ABB manufacturing, import & export operations at different locations across India involving strategic planning, legal and procedural compliance, and litigations.

Your responsibilities

• Coordinating with legal consultants and statutory authorities, maintaining, and developing MIS and review process handling PAN India customs and DGFT
• Supervising, developing and being the knowledge leader for the internal team of tax persons operating from the locations
• Responsible for EXIM/DGFT/FTP related activities of the company viz applying licences, closure of licences and claiming all the eligible benefits under EXIM/DGFT/FTP schemes
• Responsible for statutory audit, tax audit, business audit, service tax audit etc. and audit objections or reports and other matter related to customs taxation
• Responsible for answering any queries from government authorities, providing data to govt related to above functions
• Ability to draft reply to notices or enquiries from various government departments independently

Your background

• Postgraduate degree or above, preferably Law graduate
• 10+ years of experience with strong knowledge of Custom and excise and should be working in manufacturing set up
• Knowledge of customs classification/ Rule 9 certification
• Strong knowledge of custom and excise and should be working in manufacturing set up
