Position Description:

Must have an Engineering degree in any discipline from a reputed institution
  • Must have 10-12 yrs of experience in IT industry with at least 3 yrs of Service Delivery in complex; demanding 24x7 environments
  • Must be willing to work in UK/ US business day time zones and flexible to changes in work schedules
  • Experience in deploying; maintaining and supporting Linux Server infrastructures and storage systems in an enterprise environment
  • Responsible for resolving all technical incidents escalated by the L-2 team
  • Possess ITIL certification
  • Excellent written; oral communication skills; credibility; interpersonal skills
  • Must have worked in similar capacity at an MNC in Outsourcing/ technology and consulting services firm
  • Good knowledge of business continuity planning and disaster recovery practices
  • Must have financial acumen; budgeting; reducing cost of operations; knowledge of Capex; Opex; resource costing
  • Ability to plan and execute migration and upgradation projects
  • Vendor management experience
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse; virtual and multi-cultural environments
  • Able to work in an unstructured environment and bring structure to a problem; synthesize issues.
  • Experienced in managing conflicts.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Flexible to work on 24/7 rotational shifts
  • On call schedule and week end change schedule participation
  • Install and set up Linux systems and servers, often for organization-wide deployment.
  • Configure specific applications in concordance with run book requirements.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and resolve server-side issues as they arise.
  • Perform OS and application upgrades and server migrations to new environment
  • Maintain security and OS patch management for linux based systems
  • Install and maintain agents on servers for centralized monitoring and management
  • Experience with Ansible or similar tools is desired
  • Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Linux based Operating Systems (OS) on physical and virtual operating environments,
  • Providing technical oversight and consultation services.
  • Utilize Linux scripting (Bourne, PERL, BASH, PowerShell, etc.) to optimize and automate system administrator tasks.
  • Perform hardware and software technology refreshes, ensuring milestone compliance while coordinating with MPs to minimize disruptions.
  • Perform back-up/recovery functions for Linux server environments.
  • Perform all security/compliance functions for Linux server environments.
  • Experience in powerlinux servers
  • Knowledge on RHEL 5.6.7 , Centos 5.6.7 and Ubuntu
  • Knowledge in CIFS and SMB services
  • Knowledge in NIS and NFS ,Dns
  • Primary Skill: Oracle Linux, cluster , satellite , patching
  • Cloud Hosting Secondary Skill: Redhat Linux, KVM, RHEV, docker container/ openshift, Ansible/Puppet, shell/python EXPERIENCE ON REDHAT LINUX; REDHAT CLUSTER; SATELLITE ADMINISTRATION/PATCHING
  • Experience of managing large infrastructure environments.
