Job Description

A tipper driver operates a dump truck to transport bulk materials like gravel, sand, or soil to designated locations. Key responsibilities include performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, safely operating the truck and its tipping mechanism, following all traffic and safety regulations, and maintaining accurate logs of deliveries.
Key responsibilities

• Vehicle operation: Safely drive and operate tipper trucks to transport materials between sites, which may include navigating both on-road and off-road terrain.
• Pre- and post-trip inspections: Conduct daily checks on the truck's tires, brakes, lights, and other mechanical and safety components, reporting any issues and ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition.
• Loading and unloading: Supervise the loading of materials to ensure they are distributed evenly and not exceeding weight restrictions. Use the truck's controls to unload the material at the required spot.
• Safety and compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations to create a safe work environment for yourself and others.
• Documentation: Complete accurate paperwork, including delivery and pickup logs, and maintain records of driving hours and materials transported.
• Maintenance: Perform basic preventative maintenance, such as greasing the truck as needed.
• Route planning: Plan efficient routes and meet delivery schedules, using GPS and other tools as needed.
• Collaboration: Communicate with site supervisors and other team members to ensure timely and efficient operations.
