Creating computerized designs using design software such as Adobe Illustrator
Creating detailed sketches of designs to be used as the basis for finished products
Reviewing customer orders for accuracy and making any necessary adjustments to ensure satisfaction with the finished product
Working with computerized embroidery machines to create designs for fabric patterns
Developing new textile products by creating designs and patterns based on current trends in fashion or other industries such as home decor or automotive
Consulting with clients to determine their needs and preferences, such as specific colors or fabrics
Consulting with marketing staff to develop a brand image for the company or product line
Determining methods for producing and finishing materials such as dyes, yarns, fabrics, or interlinings
Analyzing competitors' products and designing new products that improve upon previous designs
