As a Test Engineer for our StorNext and other primary storage products, you\'ll design, develop, and run disk array and system hardware component qualification tests. You\'ll also work on the design, development, and execution of performance tests. Our customer base is highly technical and performance-oriented, utilizing a variety of servers on an advanced shared file system and an advanced hierarchical storage system capable of storing upwards of petabytes of data. Job Duties Job responsibilities included but not limited to:

• Functional and system-level testing on a variety of platforms, setting up system configurations (hardware and software), testing our high-availability fail-over systems, and resolution of performance issues and test automation.
• Develop and execute hardware validation plans to ensure compatibility, performance, and data integrity of storage arrays and system networking configuration infrastructure.
• Develop and implement performance test plans to ensure platform and configuration level control across all system releases.
• Work closely with the development and sustaining groups to document, diagnose, and correct problems.
• Qualification and performance testing of file and storage systems. Generate reports for a given task for projects and assignments on a regular basis.
• Clearly create and present performance metrics to engineering and product management.

Job Requirements

• Technical:
  • Knowledge and experience in storage array hardware components and configuration.
  • Networking experience.
  • Linus (RHEL and SUSE), Windows, AIX, HP-UX, Mac OS.
  • C++, Python, Perl, UNIX scripting languages.
  • Web or Wiki development.
  • System administration experience.
  • MS Office tools.
  • Source Code Management (CVS, Subversion, etc.).
  • Jira and Agile methodology.
  • Library and Tape Drive experience (Quantum, STK, IBM, HP, etc.).
  • Storage management that include SAN, DLC, and NAS technologies.
  • SAN, Fibre Channel, SCSI, ISCSI, APIs, Ethernet, RAID, tape systems.
• Education: BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Math preferred.
• Experience:
  • 5+ years experience with Hardware components.
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Candidates must have a strong engineering testing background in high end storage and/or shared or parallel file systems.
  • Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) experience and/or large storage systems experience is desirable.
  • Must have performance testing and optimization experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to have extreme focus on test automation, test development, and performance test methodologies.
