Test Engineer (Manual 60% / Automation 40%) - dbt & Data Testing
Experience: 5+ Years
Location: Hyderabad
Shift: US Shift

We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer with a strong background in Manual Testing (60%) and hands-on exposure to Automation Testing (40%), along with experience in dbt (data build tool) and data validation. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working in US shifts while collaborating with onshore stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, mapping documents, and data models to validate source-to-target data flows.
• Design and execute manual test cases for functional, regression, system, integration, and UAT testing.
• Validate incremental loads, historical backfills, and large-volume data loads.
• Perform data reconciliation between source systems, staging layers, and target marts.
• Verify data transformations, conversions, and migrations across systems.
• Write complex SQL queries using joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions for data validation.
• Identify and troubleshoot data loss, duplication, and anomalies across data pipelines.
• Validate business rules implemented using SQL and transformation logic.
• Execute backend and data testing for dbt models (staging, intermediate, marts).
• Develop and maintain automation test scripts for functional and regression testing.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA, and collaborate closely with developers and data engineers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing.
• Strong expertise in Manual Testing with real project experience.
• Hands-on experience in Automation Testing.
• Experience working with dbt (data build tool) and data testing.
• Strong SQL skills for complex data validation.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and data warehouse testing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working in US shifts.
