\xe2\x80\xa2 Researches, designs, develops and writes technical information for a variety of audiences and purposes.
- Produce a major portion of a complex documentation set (i.e. reference guides, tutorials, online help, user guides, training modules, architectural guidance, user interface text) that complies with documentation plan requirements.
- Develops and tests complex user scenarios that show how to use the product being documented and captures screenshots for inclusion in technical writing deliverables.
- Works effectively with program management, product marketing, and other internal Microsoft customers as needed.
- May instruct others in writing styles (e.g. reference guides, user guides, training materials).
- May assist with scheduling and coordinating the work of a team
Desired Skills:
- Have complete understanding about DDLC, documentation Styles and Standards - understand and apply Organization specific Styles and Standards.
- Good at using contemporary Writing, Publishing, and Image capturing tools - adhere to organization Styles and Standards.
- Working knowledge of version control systems, bug databases.
- Understand the project requirements; good at understanding the technical concepts/features of the software products/applications.
- Review, understand and fix any documentation issues received from the support groups/clients.
- Ensure the freshness of contents , coordinate with the stakeholders to ensure the content is fresh and up to date.
- Know the legacy contents, their significance and current applicability \xe2\x80\x93 improvise as and if required.
- Produce user-friendly content in U.S English with sharp focus on the audience and usability. Provide value-additions where applicable.
- Understand the UI elements such as the menu items, Wizards, Screens \xe2\x80\x93 must be comfortable using these in the documents, as required.
- Must be well-versed with diversified documentation deliverables such as installation guides, release notes, upgrade documentation, getting started and feature-specific articles/scenarios.
- Have excellent communication and collaborative skills with the project stakeholders across functions and locations.
- Understand localization and single-sourcing requirements.
- Understand the project execution models \xe2\x80\x93 Scrum/Waterfall.
- Must be a quick learner - open to extensive learning in a fast-paced environment
- Should be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
