Minimum qualifications: 10 years of experience in technical program management. Experience in release management. Experience in driving operations around releases, including quality and metrics. Preferred qualifications: Experience shipping large-scale, open source, software. Understanding of one source code management system (e.g., Git, SVN, Perforce). Understanding of the software development life-cycle, with the ability to converse on technical topics and products. About the job As a Technical Program Manager, you will be a part of the Chrome OS release program management team. You will focus on Release Quality Initiatives and Improvements, including identifying and making necessary process changes, driving metrics and dashboards, and leading these initiative with cross-functional stakeholders. In this role, you will need excellent communication skills for all questions about release schedules, quality, and progress updates. You will be responsible for identifying and managing risks, making sound judgments about quality, and stopping or speeding up production at the right time. Responsibilities Manage build activities, coordinate release testing, logistics, communication, and documentation. Coordination with multiple teams (e.g., developers, testing, hardware, infrastructure, customer experience, marketing). Evaluate risk of issues affecting upcoming releases and risk of proposed fixes, perform change control management on the release branch, and investigate and address release issues. Work on Release Quality Improvements.Lead cross-functional teams on Release Quality initiatives. Manage communication of progress/status within the stakeholders, and escalate issues as necessary.
