Role purpose

As part of the strategic Data office setup Data Stewardship will play a pivotal role in analysing business data initiatives, data analysis, servicing the data demands and deriving actionable insights. It involves Colt business units requirements and aligning Data strategy to overall business goals.

We are looking for a passionate Data Steward/ Data Science Engineering role for the Data Office. Candidate to work closely with Data Architect/Business users/stakeholders and will be responsible for the management and proficiency of data stored, managed in the organization. Data stewards to expertly handle all things related to data processing, data policies, data guidelines and administer the organisation's valuable information in compliance with policy and regulatory obligations.

Key roles & responsibilities will involve :-

  • Eliciting, decomposing requirements and stakeholder demands in terms of business process analysis, data requirements, data quality issues and improvements therein
  • Translating and simplifying requirements, requirements management and communication
  • Requirements analysis and related data lineage analysis - End to End across systems and E2E processes. Experience in consolidating and prioritizing data requirements
  • High level knowledge of respective Data Domains.
  • Experience in developing and implementing logical data models
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data requests and accordingly update CDE business metadata and trusted data sources for CDEs
  • Assist in process reengineering, improvements, system changes to improve data quality and adopt data management, governance principles as defined by the Data architect, ITA team, governance council
  • Ability to model Data, entities using Data modelling tools would be added advantage
  • Ability to assess Data flows, Data lineages and be able to build, elicit understanding of the underlying Data in business context
  • Propose innovative ideas to improve data quality, customer experience and reduce cycle time using latest state-of-art technologies AI, ML, Data visualization techniques, RPA automations etc.
  • Functional understanding of some of the key domains within of Telco industry is good to have - Sales, marketing, procurement, HR, Legal, Finance, Tax etc.
  • Driving data Quality checks and data quality improvements, business processes assessments across domains : Sales, marketing, HR, legal, network inventory etc.
  • Ability to Extract, Manipulate and Analyse complex, high-volume, high dimensionality data from various sources to Analyze trend and relationships using ML techniques and BI Tools.
Key accountabilities
  • Elicit requirements and stakeholder demands in terms of data requirements, data quality issues and improvements
  • Drive data Quality checks and data quality improvements across domains : Sales, marketing, HR, legal, network inventory etc.
  • Translate and simplify requirements, requirements management and communication
  • Drive requirements analysis and related data lineage analysis - End to End across systems and E2E processes.
  • Assist process reengineering, improvements, system changes to improve data quality and adopt data management, governance principles as defined by the Data architect, ITA team, governance council
  • Propose innovative solutions to improve data quality and reduce cycle time
  • Conduct root cause analysis to assist with issue resolution. Collaborate effectively with wider teams : IT, Process, Security, Business stakeholders to drive data quality improvement initiatives, solutions
  • Formulate, maintain, manage key artefacts : Data models, Data-Flow diagrams, use case diagrams, flow charts, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, and other data models.
  • Generate reports and present documentation of results to stakeholders.
  • Applying Data mining techniques as far as possible to improve the Data quality, governance and usage - Predictive analytics, Cohort, retention, cluster analytics, Sensitivity analysis etc.
  • Propose innovative ideas to improve data quality, customer experience and reduce cycle time using latest state-of-art technologies AI, ML, Data visualization techniques, RPA automations etc.
  • Capability to analyse domain-specific data issues and provide mitigation activities to business owners
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data requests and accordingly update CDE (Critical Data Elements) technical and operational metadata along with trusted data sources for CDEs
  • Good system knowledge of assigned platform(s)
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for executive stakeholders and business counterparts.
Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial)
  • Timely delivery of reports / tasks, data-Flow diagrams, use case diagrams, flow charts, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, and other data models as per the agreed plan
  • Accuracy in performing given tasks which will be validated basis customer and manager feedback
  • Ability to perform data assessments, conduct PoC's for use-cases from Data sciences and analytics perspective with the hands-on usage of AI/ML techniques.

  • Suggest data quality improvements adhering to organization security, data privacy, governance and data handling best practises

  • Service Delivery, Sales, marketing, Sales operations, Legal, HR, Procurement, Network Operations & Engineering etc.
  • Order processing Team, IT support, security, billing operations, revenue Assurance, IT architecture and process design, program teams
Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience
  • 7-10 years of experience in Data management, requirement gathering, MIS/Analytics, preferably in Operations reporting.
  • Able to convert Business Requirements into Data specifications, Data entity/catalog impact definitions.
  • Should have exposure in creating Data modelling techniques, Data catalog, models and frameworks.
  • Understand Business scenarios as in Service Delivery, Service Assurance, Sales & Marketing , Order Processing reporting, Sales, marketing support
  • Good understanding and hands on experience at least in any one of Visualization tools : Qlik, Power BI and SAP SAC
  • Predictive analytics with knowledge of Python, VBA & SQL will be desirable.
  • Automation tools usage and deployments will be desirable.
  • Colt exiting IT estate knowledge will be desirable, if internal Colt employees.
  • Takes initiative to keep self-skills up to date and actively contributes to team knowledge sharing.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning - Supervised Learning (Regression, Classification, Natural Language Processing), Unsupervised Learning (K Means Clustering, Dimension Reduction) etc.
  • Ability to work with Business Objects, Advanced Excel technologies
  • Knowledge of Quantitative Analysis (EDA), Trend Analysis, KPI Analysis & BPI Plans etc.
  • Knowledge Data Science (Hypothesis Testing, Inferential Statistics), Predictive Modelling etc.
Qualifications
  • Graduate/MCA / IT / Engineering Graduate or Post Graduate with 9 to 10 years of experience
  • Data analytics, Data sciences certifications
