Introduction: Change Delivery Accountability for the delivery of all system change (to agreed time, quality, cost and functionality) for one or more complex/large products / applications in the respective product domain or channel. This will include software delivered across the end-to-end software development lifecycle. To be recognized as the 'go to' contact for domain queries, Platform / application queries and major incident escalation / management. Technical Road Mapping Accountable for the delivery of Technical roadmaps for future direction of the product/Platform. Accountable for promoting proactive remedial strategies to prevent future system problems and to improve the quality of delivered systems. Product/Platform Engineering/Ownership Be recognized as the key point of contact for a product or suite of products, drawing on all relevant Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) To ensure that the quality and stability of the products / applications are maintained across their lifetime. Reviewing and approving changes proposed and in-line with the relevant architectures To use system specific knowledge and expertise to define strategies that provides business solutions. People Management To effectively manage a large team including work assignment, personal development and career planning, ensuring skilled resources levels are maintained, coaching / mentoring and driving/leading change to organizational transformation / process improvement. Supply and Demand Management Responsibility for all supply and demand of work into a large team, which includes managing both Barclays resources and SI partners / third party suppliers. What will you be doing Provide consultancy and drive/lead change for new initiatives, to assist in the definition of business solutions or technical strategies. Support the production of Technical Feasibility Studies (TFS), High Level Designs (HLD) and End to End Designs for Features and projects. Support the production of Advice and Guidance (A&G) documents, plan and estimates supplying/reviewing estimates for all work against overall schedule. Drive the team to establish an in-depth awareness of new tools, processes and technical developments relevant to component area of expertise. Identify and use prototyping functions and features for application product requirements What we're looking for: Good understanding of the internal and external environments related to different platform and services: Prior experience in dealing with Data Good understanding of the Environments challenges Solid understanding of DevOPs and the impact of this on tooling Strong understanding of WAS, JBOSS ++ what tools they are developing in . Must demonstrate effective communication with management, peers, and subordinates, both verbally and in writing. Inspires confidence by making and honoring commitments, demonstrates initiative and competence. Creates plans towards achieving goals and demonstrates the leadership skills required to manage innovation and change resulting from the implementation of IT systems Able to communicate a vision and strategy of own role, contributes to, and encourages ideas and builds on the suggestions Influencing / networking skills - ability to develop internal and external business relationships, use own knowledge, skills and experience to influence others opinions and actions in order to reach the right business decisions Provide opportunities to team members to learn and grow Maintain and enhance reporting, monitoring, governance and procedural documentation. Skills that will help you in the role: Graduate with technical background Previous experience in environments include J2EE, Git, Tomcat/WAS, JBOSS, JUnit, SOAPUI, REST APIs, Agile Scrum/Kanban Cucumber JVM, Selenium WebDriver, Restful Services Familiar with Jira/Confluence Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications: . Proven ability to develop and manage senior level stakeholder relationships across the BUK Change, Engineering and within own Technology Group . Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the Transaction Cycles and operating models . Rich technology experience and good exposure to latest advancements in Technology - bringing innovative solutions to the table . Experience in working with multi-location teams . Participate in tasks at org level like training/social activities to promote Barclays culture . Experience in diagnosing and resolving root cause of problems, . Actively supported software quality assurance reviews and monitoring activities . Experienced with planning, estimating, staffing, organizing, and managing multiple application development initiatives had monitored and dealt with critical paths and risks areas .
