The Role

: Technical Consultant – SAP Commerce is a hands-on technical consulting role aimed to architect, design and deploy the most appropriate and suitable solution for Shell of the specific Commerce component (Hybris) within C/4 Suite for a set of Mobility applications built on SAP Commerce. TCL is expected to bring in the team, and provide stakeholders with, deep product expertise and real world experience that, together, can realize the full potential of the technology to meet the strategic and business objectives of the new Global eCommerce Platform – to be built on C/4 Suite (subject to selected components). This position will fit into a highly complex project – reporting directly to the Technical Platform Manager – and it will involve multiple products and multiple environments (web, application, database servers, digital solutions, etc). This position has the following accountabilities:

• Take pivotal role in the overall platform development, as technical lead of the Commerce component, providing in depth technical knowledge of SAP Hybris Commerce platform and products;
• Work with the team and the wider stakeholder landscape to define and assess application and technical requirements of SAP Commerce component;
• Understand the current state of Shell landscape, with respect to technology, and define opportunities that create business value;
• Fully understand capabilities and limitations of the technical environments and proactively look for additional benefits to be delivered by taking advantage of systems, processes, and data already in place or being deployed;
• Work in line with Shell / Agile Hub project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes – including those related to non-functional requirements (e.g. IRM);
• Identify and highlight the major factors, assumptions and risks, related to the Commerce component, that may influence development roadmap and success;
• Champion the development of long-term Technical Platform Management capability within Shell through bringing external perspectives, identifying and promoting best practices, coaching others on advanced skills, and contributing to community building.

Special Challenges:

• 
  Identify and deploy most suitable SAP Commerce solution architecture, software engineering quality, best practices, risk assessment, critical paths and timelines and engineer vs. adopt arguments and recommendations;
• Through knowledge and expertise. quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders and understand their strategic priorities;
• Understand the current state of Shell business landscape and define technical development opportunities that increase business value;
• actively contribute to the transformation of the way business users interpret B2C Commerce by imagining and shaping innovative solutions;
• Remain focused and productive under pressure and recover quickly from setbacks;
• Take calculated risks and apply judgment to make timely decisions that will maximize value;
• Balance execution efficiency with risk mitigation, value delivery, cost, and quality;

Skills & Requirements:

• Must have total of 14+ years of experience and 5+ years in SAP Hybris.
• Experience of designing, implementing and supporting large, complex, SAP Commerce / Hybris applications, ideally with customer facing experience – preferably in eCommerce / CRM B2C space;
• Strong development skills using SAP Hybris supported languages and protocols, including experience working with Web Services (SOAP & RESTful) and knowledge of SQL, Relational Database Management Systems (DBMS);
• Proven record delivering expert technical topics and presentations to a wide range of audiences including customer stakeholders, board room executive briefings, industry conferences and high-stakes customer presentations;
• Problem solving skills, tenacity, drive, creativity, sound planning and organizational abilities, strong improvement focus;
• Agile project methodology and tooling experience;
• Good understanding and experience of the various Agile frameworks;
• Demonstrated learning agility in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations.
