What does a successful Senior Software Architect (Kafka) do The Senior Software Architect is a key contributor within the Development team working to build and enhance our event application platform used by our applications and services and integrations. The Senior Software Architect will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential. What you will do: Collaborate with various stakeholders to determine software requirements and architectural decisions Assist in driving architectural changes to increase performance and stability within the system Provide mentorship to new members on the team Contribute to design and code reviews Support Finxact\'s Event driven architecture with Kafka. Build processes for Kafka maintenance such as archiving Capacity planning tuning of Kafka clusters Translate software requirements into stable, working, high-performance software Develop quality unit/integration tests to ensure a quality product What you will need to have: Bachelor\'s degree in related field or equivalent experience 10+ years of hands-on software development experience Minimum 4+ years of Kafka experience Experience with CDC with Kafka using Debezium Experience with Event Driven Architecture and CDC Experience with highly transactional distributed systems. Strong understanding of building RESTful API fundamentals Experience designing and building Microservices Experience building go applications backed by a relational database such as Postgres or MySQL 1-2 years experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes Experience software version control (Preferably Git) and continuous integration tools (Gitlab or Github) What would be nice to have: Experience with Go is considered a plus Thank you for considering employment with Fiserv.
